The Stan Herd Art Gallery located within Protection Township Library has several pieces of work on display by artist Stan Herd. Stan is world renowned for his “crop art”, murals and other paintings. Stan grew up on a farm south of Protection. You will find much more information on Stan and his work at his web page. Stan Herd’s website.
Artwork by other artists is also welcomed, and on display in the Gallery.
You are welcome to enjoy all of this artistic talent, on display during normal Library hours. Admission is free.
UPDATE: The Protection Township Library was pleased to display the items from the ‘Jones Drug Store’ a long ago fixture in Protection. Allene Jones loaned the library several items that were in the drug store. A photo of Mr. Jones, his name plate, bottles or drugs, pill counter, measuring equipment used to mix drugs in that ‘by gone era’ are on display, along with several of his old drug books. Do drop and by and see this lovely display set up by Mary Holler the local librarian.
